 What is a Proposition?
 
A preposition is a word or group of words that links nouns, pronouns, or phrases to other words within a sentence. They often indicate relationships concerning time (e.g., before, after), place (e.g., under, above), direction (e.g., towards, into), or introduce an object.

Common Preposition
1. About – concerning; regarding 
   Example: She talked about the movie. 
2. Above – at a higher level 
   Example: The clock is above the door. 
3. Across – from one side to another 
   Example: He ran across the field. 
4. After – later in time 
   Example: We will meet after the movie. 
5. Against – in opposition to 
   Example: She leaned against the wall. 
6. Along – following the length of 
   Example: They walked along the beach. 
7. Among – in the middle of 
   Example: She found the letter among the papers. 
8. Around – surrounding or encircling 
   Example: The cat ran around the house. 
9. At – indicating a specific location 
   Example: We met at the park. 
10. Before – earlier in time 
   Example: She left before the meeting. 
11. Behind – at the back of 
   Example: He is standing behind the tree. 
12. Below – at a lower level 
   Example: The temperature dropped below zero. 
13. Beneath – directly underneath 
   Example: The book is beneath the table. 
14. Beside – next to 
   Example: She sat beside her friend. 
15. Between – in the middle of two objects 
   Example: The ball is between the chairs. 
16. Beyond – further away in distance 
   Example: The village is beyond the mountains. 
17. But – except 
   Example: Everyone but John attended. 
18. By – close to or next to 
   Example: She lives by the river. 
19. Concerning – about 
   Example: They talked concerning the issue. 
20. Despite – in spite of 
   Example: He went outside despite the rain.
